SAB 0-2
About the SAB 0-2
The SAB 0-2 (Symptoms of Autism Before age 2 years) is a parent/caretaker questionnaire that was developed by Dahlgren and Gillberg in the 1980s with a view to studying the earliest symptoms and signs of autism and to find indicators that could separate autism from intellectual disability before age 2 years. It takes about twenty minutes to complete by a parent or caretaker who knows the child well, longer if the child is severely affected by a variety of early neurodevelopmental symptoms/problems. The most pertinent publications are by Dahlgren and Gillberg 1989 and Gillberg et al 1990, but the questionnaire has also been used in other studies, including Gillberg 1987 on Rett syndrome.
